Re-tiling an existing concrete pool
Retiling an existing pool is entirely possible, and on an older concrete shell it usually beats another round of plaster — which in water this hard means going through the same job again in eight to twelve years.
This one was finished around 2011. The original had a plaster interior, a waterline band, tiled steps and brick paving. The renovation converted the interior to full tile and dealt with the surrounds at the same time.
It stays in the gallery because the photographs are old and the method is not. Preparation, set-out and finishing are the same today.

My pool heater stopped working in October when the water was just getting to cold to use without it. Called Pool Care LA and they came out within a couple of days, the technician diagnosed the problem, a faulty igniter and a gas valve issue and explained everything clearly before starting any work. They had the parts and got it fixed in one visit. What I really appreciated was that they gave me options and explained what each repair would cost before doing anything. House is off Magnolia, near the 5. Pool is from 1982 and the plaster had never been touched. Got to the point were the rough spots were actually scratching my kids feet when they pushed off the wall. Called Pool Care LA, they came out, assessed it, gave me a fair quote and got it on the schedule. Replastering went smooth and they explained the curing process so there were no surprises. Feels like a completely different pool now and the chemistry has been way more stable to. Should of done it three years ago honestly.Read in fullCollapse

Came home from a two-week vacation and our pool was basically green. The previous company told us we needed to drain it, which sounded crazy.
