About Pool Care LA

A family-owned pool company in Studio City. The whole pitch is boring on purpose: the same checklist every week, and someone who answers when you call.

What we actually do

Pool Care LA is a family-owned pool service company working out of Studio City. We keep residential pools and spas running across the Foothill communities and the Los Angeles neighbourhoods next to them — weekly, all year, because pools here never get a closed season.

There are two ways to work with us. The Maintenance Membership is an ongoing weekly route with the same checklist every visit. The individual services — green-to-clean recovery, acid wash, equipment repair and new plaster start-up — are one-time jobs for when something has gone wrong or something has just been built.

What we deliberately do not sell is a one-off routine cleaning. A single clean on a pool nobody is looking after is a photograph, not a fix; two weeks later it looks the same as before. If a pool is in that state, what it needs is a recovery first and a route afterwards.

The part that is hard to put on a website

Every pool company in Los Angeles says it communicates well. The word is meaningless until you attach something to it, so here is what we mean by it:

  • You should not have to stand at the gate to know we came.

The visit produces a record: what the water read, what was adjusted, what was checked, and anything on the pad that is heading toward a problem.

  • Bad news early beats good news late.

A salt cell that is scaling, a filter pressure that is climbing, a heater that is short-cycling — all of these are visible weeks before they strand you. Telling you then is the whole point of the weekly visit.

  • Repair before replace, and say which is which.

Most pool equipment fails in one part. We diagnose first, and when a piece genuinely cannot be saved we say so rather than quietly quoting a new one.

  • A quote is a number, not a range you find out later.

We would rather ask you four questions about the pool up front than send a low number and revise it after the first visit.

What we service, in full

The equipment list matters more than it looks. A company that only touches the water is not watching the half of your pool that costs money when it fails.

On the pad, every visit

And also

  • Pool lights

    Light repair and replacement.

  • Blowers, auto-fills, actuator valves

The small parts that quietly decide whether everything else works.

  • Time clocks

Reset seasonally and for daylight saving.

  • Automatic cleaners

Checked as part of the weekly inspection.

  • Plumbing and electrical components

Where they belong to the pool circuit.

How to check us — or anyone else

You should not take a pool company’s word for its own quality, ours included. Four checks that are worth doing before you hand anyone a gate code.

  1. Ask for the visit checklist in writing

Ours is published in full on the weekly service page and on the home page. If a company cannot produce one, there is nothing to hold them to.

  2. Ask what happens when something breaks

Not whether they repair — everyone repairs. Ask who diagnoses it, how the repair-or-replace decision gets made, and whether you see the part cost.

  3. Ask what is included in the price

Chemicals and filter cleans are where most of the difference between two quotes hides. We wrote the five questions to ask out in full, including for companies that are not us.

  4. Check the licence

California contractor licences are public and searchable at cslb.ca.gov. Any company doing pool repair work should be happy to give you a number to type in.

Questions about working with us

Are you a family-owned business?

Yes. It is also why the referral program exists: most of the people we service arrived through someone they already knew, and we would rather reward that than buy the same customer through an advert.

Where are you based, and does that matter?

Studio City — 4121 Radford Ave, Ste. #214. It matters because we run routes, not a radius. The office location tells you where the routes start; the service areas page tells you where they go.

Do you service commercial pools?

Our published services are written for residential pools and spas. If you have a commercial or HOA pool, tell us about it and we will give you a straight yes or no rather than a maybe.

Can I switch to you from another pool service?

Yes, and the quote form has a question for exactly that. If you are mid-contract elsewhere, check your notice period first. If the pool has drifted while you were deciding, the first job may be a recovery rather than a normal visit — we will tell you that before we start, not after.

What do you not do?

One-time routine cleanings, and pool construction. We maintain, recover and repair pools; we do not build them. If you are planning a build, the article on what to know first is written from the maintenance side of that decision, which is the side most people hear from last.

Tell us about your pool and we will price it

Weekly maintenance, a green pool that needs rescuing, or equipment that has stopped. Send the details and we will come back with a number and the next open day on the route.
