Custom dolphin and fish mosaic pool tiling

We convert existing concrete pools to fully tiled interiors, including one-off mosaic work. This one shows what is possible when the tiling, the preparation and the design are handled by the same crew.

This is the work. The before and after is the argument.

Arcadia

A mosaic masterpiece for a remarkable home

During a house renovation the pool had been left without filtration and had gone green while the yard and court were rebuilt. By the time we came in, the water was the least of it: the surface underneath had been sitting untreated for months.

The owner supplied the porcelain mosaic. Our job was to read the numbered sheets, set them out accurately on a floor that is not flat, and refine the joins so the picture reads as one thing rather than a grid of panels.

The result is permanent, and it is part of the pool rather than stuck to it.

Every mosaic pool floor tells its own story.

Hand-finished mosaic artwork

From numbered sheets to one ocean scene

The factory sheets set the composition. The alignment and the way it reads underwater are finished by hand on site.

Numbered layout plan used to assemble the dolphin and marine mosaic pool artwork
The numbered layout used as the starting point for the hand-finished floor.

Each mosaic piece behaves like a pixel. Small adjustments sharpen the curves, tighten the details and blend the joins between sheets, so the artwork does not break into panels once there is water over it.

Water magnifies alignment, joint width and every change of direction. A pool floor also slopes to the main drain and curves into the walls, so a design laid out as if the floor were flat comes out stretched at the deep end. That is why the set-out takes longer than the laying.

This is not a decorative panel dropped onto a finished surface. The mosaic is part of the tiled interior, which is why it will still be there when the equipment has been replaced twice.

This week on the job

Straight from the truck

Short clips from real visits. Nothing staged, nothing bought from a stock library.

  • Setting mosaic tile along the waterline by hand
  • Draining a pool and scrubbing the plaster back to clean
  • A swamp-green pool drained and washed back to bright
  • The crew troweling fresh plaster across an empty shell

Came home from a two-week vacation and our pool was basically green. The previous company told us we needed to drain it, which sounded crazy. Pool Care LA came out, tested everything, explained what was happening and started the cleanup. Took a little time but now the water looks better than it has in years.Read in full

We had another pool company for almost five years and slowly the service got worse. They would say they came but the pool was always dirty. Jake from Pool Care LA has been completely different. He actually checks the equipment and lets us know if something needs attention.Read in full

Our pump stopped working on a Friday afternoon and we were worried because we had family coming over that weekend. Robert came out, found the problem and got everything running again. Honest guy, and he explained everything before doing the repair.Read in full

I don't usually leave reviews but these guys deserve it. My pool was a mess and I was tired of trying to fix the chemicals myself. They came out and took care of everything. Water is clear now and I don't have to worry anymore.Read in full

Bought a house in Beverly Hills with an older pool and honestly had no idea how to maintain it. The equipment was old and everything was confusing. They walked me through what needed to be done first and what could wait. No pressure. That was appreciated.Read in full

We thought we needed a completely new pool system. Turns out it was just a few issues with the pump and filter. They saved us a lot of money by fixing what actually needed fixing.
