The pool serves our building rather than one household. Is that a different job?
Yes, in ways that have little to do with cleaning. A shared pool carries a higher and less predictable load, and it is not judged as a private backyard is — gates, enclosure and records sit with whoever runs the property. Say so at the quote stage and we start the right conversation.
Nobody is home during the day and the gate is locked. How does that work?
Most properties here are serviced with nobody present: a code, a key, a lockbox or a manager. What matters is that the arrangement is written down and that we hear when it changes — a new code nobody passed on is the commonest reason a visit does not happen. Gates are closed and locked on the way out, every visit.
Neighbors complain about the pump. Can the run time be cut?
Cut, usually not. Quietened, usually yes. A pool needs its water turned over, and short hours are how a clear pool becomes a cloudy one in August. A variable-speed pump run longer at a lower speed is markedly quieter and uses less power doing it. Run times are adjusted seasonally as part of weekly service.
Can you acid wash a pool when there is nowhere to put the water?
An acid wash means draining the pool, so where the water goes is part of the job — on a small lot with shared drainage it is the first thing to settle. It is also not routine: it removes a layer of plaster, so it is done only when the finish is stained rather than dirty.
How much does pool service cost in West Hollywood?
Weekly service starts at $159 a month for a pool up to 15,000 gallons and runs to $249 a month for pools over 40,000, with standard chemicals included. Most customers pay between $179 and $249.
