Some people search for resurfacing, others for relining, rendering, quartz replacement, a pool interior makeover or a glass bead install. They usually want the same thing. What has to happen first is the same too: cracks and rust damage are dealt with before any new finish is chosen.

When should a pool be resurfaced?
Age does not decide it, condition does
Most owners call when the surface stops being pleasant to look at, clean or swim against.
- Rough underfoot. Harsh, coarse or uncomfortable to touch, especially on the steps and in the shallow end.
- Flaking or releasing. Sections of quartz finish, white plaster or render lifting, deteriorating or rubbing away.
- Stained and tired. Blotchy or permanently marked even after cleaning and normal maintenance.
- Simply dated. The pool still works, but the interior belongs to another decade and you want it fresh for summer.

Questions people ask about resurfacing
What pool interiors can be resurfaced?
Concrete swimming pools. Resurfacing is usually considered once an older interior — quartz finish, white plaster, rough pebble, pebble finish or another rendered surface — has reached the point where it needs renewing rather than patching.
Do you work on fiberglass pools?
No. This is concrete pool interior resurfacing. Fiberglass is a different surface with a different repair system, and none of the work described here applies to it.
How much does pool resurfacing cost?
It starts at $7,500, and most projects land between $10,000 and $20,000. The final number depends on pool size, the current surface, access, the preparation required, any repairs and any wider renovation work. Send clear photos and approximate dimensions so it can be assessed properly.
Is resurfacing the same as relining or rendering?
Owners use those words interchangeably when they search, and in practice they are all asking for the same thing: renewal of the concrete pool interior, because the old surface has gone rough, worn, stained or out of date.
Do you replace quartz finish or old pebble interiors?
Yes, and those are two of the most common reasons people call. If your quartz finish, pebble or pebble-finish surface is failing or has become too rough, send photos and we will say whether resurfacing is the right next step.
What if I am searching for a glass bead install or quartz resurfacing?
That is exactly why we ask for photos. Owners compare finish names before they know the differences between them. We would rather look at the actual concrete pool and talk about the most suitable direction than match you to a word.
What should I send when asking for a quote?
Your name, the suburb, clear photos of the pool, approximate dimensions, and anything you know about the current interior. If there are rough areas, flaking, stains or cracks, mention those too — they change the preparation more than the size does.
